BCM celebrates its 50th anniversary and wins Industrial Manufacturing Business of the Year, awarded by the Business Examiner.

     

2025

BCM secures a landmark partnership with KV Capital and experiences a 70% growth in workforce and a 32% increase in production. BCM now owns 21 trailers, all featuring fun names like “Shakira,” and “Liza Manelli,” enabling us to build resilient delivery schedules, respond to shifting timelines immediately, and get our millwork to the site faster than ever.

BCM 2024

Experiencing unprecedented growth, Benson Cabinetry & Millwork (BCM) expands its management, manufacturing and field teams to meet surging demand. With a steady influx of awarded projects, the company continues to solidify its presence in the multi-residential market across Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, and Kelowna.

   

2023

BCM expands its reach to supply the Kelowna market and purchases its first trailer, affectionately named “Rose.”

     

2022

Production begins to increase at a rate of 20-30% year over year.

     

2021

BCM expands operations to the North Island.

      

2020

Benson Industries Limited officially rebrands as Benson Cabinetry & Millwork (BCM).

2020 business purchase

Tim and Natalie purchase the company from Paul Benson.

     

2018

Paul Benson retires from day-to-day operations, passing leadership to his son, Tim Benson, as President, and Natalie Benson as Chief Operating Officer.

    

2017

Cellini

The company develops Cellini, a premium cabinetry line that blends local and Italian components to create an elevated product capable of competing with luxury Italian imports.

Benson Industries celebrates its 40th anniversary

With the strong resurgence of the multi-family sector in BC, the company wraps up its final year of operations in Alberta.

     

2013

Italian Partnership

A new partnership with custom Italian suppliers allows Benson Industries to offer elevated, premium materials that set them apart from other local manufacturers.

    

2010

Benson Industries expands into the Alberta market, supplying products for multiple projects across the province.

    

2009

Benson Industries secures the athlete housing project for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, completing hundreds of kitchens for the world’s top competitors.

      

2008

Benson Industries concludes its operations in the United States to focus on its Canadian roots.

     

2004

The company becomes an early adopter of true European-style cabinetry, utilizing dowel-and-glue assembly rather than the traditional screws common in North America.

    

1996

Benson Industries relocates to a newly constructed 25,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and office facility in Victoria.

     

1993

Benson Industries opens its dedicated sales and estimating office in Vancouver.

Work in America

US operations expand into Nevada, California, Washington, and Oregon, while the company maintains a strong presence across British Columbia.

    

1991

Benson Industries expands into the US market, successfully completing its first project in Arizona.

Name Change to BIL

Monaghan Modular Cabinets is renamed Benson Industries.

    

1982

Operations expand to Vancouver, with Monaghan Modular Cabinets supplying cabinetry for multi-family developments.

Monaghan Woodwork completes its first multi-unit residential project on Northern Vancouver Island.

Paul acquires full ownership of Monaghan Woodwork.
